The Trek Hat Fitted with Stampede Strings

With the coveted green rock in the center, Balboa’s pioneer trek hat lacked only one thing - Stampede strings. You know, those leather straps that extend down through the hat and below the jaw to keep the wind from blowing it off (most of the time). Not an easy modification, but a necessary one.
Who knows, [...]

Elisabeth Ella Anderson, Her Debut In Utero

Don’t ask me how or why babey Abey butted in front of baby Bess, I’m just grateful that she is confirmed for arrival sometime in the middle of May. Here’s a quick preview:

Raising the Roof

I spent five hours on the north beam - aka “The Wall” last Saturday. Dren was on the south beam - aka “The Other Wall.” Me, the beam, thin air, 25+ ft up, setting the trusses as they swung, shook, squeaked, shifted and leaned. Dren kept saying, “That East Gable really screwed things up.”

Mea and Bear

I was browsing through the photo updates from pop-in-law and this one just jumped out at me. I was surprised to notice how closely they resemble each other. My Kids Cheer For These Flags

Because they are all proud citizens of this one.

Because genetically, they have some Swiss, but mostly English blood with Danish as a close second. Weird that the flags are so similar, didn’t realize that until just now.

Again, genetics.  German 12.5%,   Albanian 12.5%,   Scottish 6.25%.

Netherlands, because I was born and lived my [...]

The Girls

Today Dad asked, “want to see my girls?” I pryed, “the blondes with a flair for the stage?”  He said, “Yep.” I said, “sure!”  Now you can enjoy them too… (click the thumbnails photos to enlarge).
They have leading roles (pun intented) in Les Miserables being performed at the Taucahn Amphitheater. To experience Les Miserables in an incomparable setting (something other than a [...]

“Must be having Circumcision Nightmares” and other quotables

Sometimes he wakes with a jolt and a scream (see above). He didn’t awaken like this before the circumcision.
Kym says she hears the Jaws theme song as he approaches to latch on. Her toes curl when he does. Looks painful.
With the baby’s head emerging, Dr. Cannon coaxes him out with the words “Come toward [...]
